When you buy a stroker kit just get one for a 1 piece rear main seal. Bam . Done.
You cant put an old model 400 crank in that block. It wont fit. You will have to buy a 383 kit with a crank for a 1 piece rear main seal block

As far as Fuel Injection parts , get them for a 98 K1500. Some stuff you can get for any old 350 and some stuff you need to know the year. Just depends. If its a true Vortec any year from 95-98 oughta work

can't go wrong with a staight up tree fidy,    383 to me ain't worth the money.    I've ran both with the same setups and either work fine.  If i had to buy internals anyways, i'd buy 383 stuff but if i got a good 350 leave it bee.

I would as soon De-stroke an engine than than up-stroke an engine.  383's aint ever really impressed me much. I feel the same way about 383's as I do tunnel rams with 2 4's on stock motors

Dwight woodly did his and it made a huge difference on his. And you don't have to do any fuel changes all I have to do is send my comp back to jims performance and he has to change a few things but that is all

A destroked 350 to 302 will blow the doors off a upstroked 350 to 383.
Id be more inclined to destroke a 400 with a 350 crank before I blowed a bunch of money on a 383 kit . When its all said and done a 383 and a 350 with the same parts on them are gonna be close to the same and not worth the hassle. My 2 pennys

A destroked 400 (377) will turn its RPM's quicker but does not pull as hard as a 400. I had a friend with one in 1970 truck. It ran great but did not run no where near as good as when he went back to the 400. I think a lot of it has to do with gearing and weight. Just like anything else. But I still believe that there is NO replacement for displacement.

Its all about what you want. I like my engines to rev like a cheetah with a coke habit , not like a pot smokin sloth

Ok some more help Im looking at stroker kits and I think I got one but what I need to no is what cam to use I was looking at the ram jet cam and the Howards 110235-10 cam the problem is there power band stops at 4500 and 4800 wich seems low what would be a good cam for my application? The rev limiter is set at 6000 but I can change it if needed.

But the stroker kit is from scat it's all forged and has flat top pistons and is a 10.5 to 1 compression with 6" rods does that sound ok?

You need to call howards and tell them what you want it to do and make sure they know your runnin Vortec FI . Otherwise your gonna get in a big bunch of sh!t tring to get that thing to idle.
If you want to have the ECM prgram changed Ill help you pick out a cam. Otherwise your better off to run stock or 1 notch over
