Ok I know you use the 203 gearbox and the 205 to make a doubler but can you use a dodge 203 gear box and a chevy 205 to make a doubler?

Yes you can mix and match brands. You just have to get a kit to mate your 203 to whatever 205 you have. I think the guy out in morrison will build a doubler kit for 300-400. That's where Jamie is having his done at.

as long as you are mating your dodge 203 to a dodge trans, just have your doubler shaft splined to a chevy. What is the input spline on your 205? Chevy had 3 different ones.

I don't have a chevy 205 yet I wanted to make sure I could do it before I got one. And the 203 Im using is bolted to the trans right now so Im good there

Well you dont want a 10 spline case , unless you want to buy a different input shaft and have the case hogged out to fit the bigger bearing. A 10 spline input shaft will break with the torque that a doubler creates. .02 cents

Yes i have a chevy 203 and a ford 205 turned upside down. Some people even get a chevy 205 and use the Ford 205 input to get away from the 10 and 27 spline. The 32spline chevy 205 is the one you really want but they are hard to find (when you do people think they are gold). The ford 205 is a 31 spline input.

Or you just get a 27 spline chevy and buy a 50 dollar input gear to make it 32 spline.

yeah, but a 27 spline 1 is uncommon as a 32 if not harder to find.  just get the 32 spline off a 400turbo and go.

I see more 27 spliners, at least for a decent price. Most 32 spline ones go for 300-500 bucks. You may come out cheaper having a 10 spline case machined to fit the big bearing, all said and done.

Thanks for all the input guys. Now the dodge will have 38s for now and at some point 40s but it's not going to be used as a hard core rig or nothing more trail riding and probably parson pass that type stuff so would the 10 spline still be to weak?

Yep. 10 spline sucks azz. That and its a male input so you have to run a coupler. Thats just another weak link.
